Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program

The Community Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Program aims to reduce teen pregnancies through education. This program currently serves Carroll, Greene, Pocahontas, and Audubon counties.

Presentations are available to schools that focus on contraceptive choices, sexually transmitted diseases, making healthy choices, and preventing unintended pregnancies. Presentations are given by a Registered Nurse who specializes in the area of family planning education.

The CAPP program also assists schools in meeting the requirement of House File 611 which was passed in 2007. This bill requires that schools include age-appropriate and research-based information regarding sexually transmitted diseases including the human papilloma virus and the availability of a vaccine to prevent the virus. Curriculum available to help schools meet this requirement include: Draw the Line, Reducing the Risk, and Making Proud Choices.

All services are provided at no cost to the school.

For more information or to schedule a presentation, please call the CAPP Coordinator at (712)792-9266 ext. 202 or 1-800-642-6330.
