New Opportunities, Inc. in partnership with Carroll, Audubon, Guthrie & Green County’s most influential human service agencies & educational entities are calling upon our communities to promote the emotional well-being of children & families. Using the book by Dr. Gerald Newmark Ph.D., How to Raise Emotionally Healthy Children, we will provide information and resources to families to foster emotional health among our most impressionable population, children.

Using the 5 in 5 campaign parents, teachers, child care providers and extended family members will learn about the 5 critical emotional needs of children.

Satisfying a child's 5 Critical Emotional Needs: Respect, Importance, Acceptance, Inclusion and Security will help them to become self-confident, independent, responsible and caring adults.

GOAL: Our goal is to make information, resources, and training on emotional health accessible to everyone, so participation in all of our Book Club Meetings is FREE!

Childcare will not be provided for these meetings.

Babies, toddlers, children, teenagers, parents and grandparents all have the same emotional needs.
Meeting these needs in childhood provides the foundation for success in school, work, relationships, marriage and life in general.
